Default B18C5 Fully Built or B20Vtec

I Have a 2000 ITR and I was debating on whether i should build that block or go ahead and do a B20Vtec, if i was to do the B18C5 i would to Toda everything, pistons, cams, etc. If i was to Build a B20Vtec, i would do, Toda cams, Endyn pistons etc. what should i do? keep what i got or change the block.

I'd look and see which was more cost effective. B20 torque is kick *** and you can get almost over 220whp NA with a B20 with what you mentioned. Like I said, it all comes down to what you want to spend.

check out this site:
http://www.exospeed.com/b20.htm
they build b20 blocks, 4 different stages, and you can order them with VTEC head tap, Earl fittings, steel braided lines for B20/VTEC

The blocks are the same overall dimensions the difference is the bore and the B18C has oil squirters. Sleeve a B18C block if you have one that needs to be rebuilt.

...for what you'd spend in most cases for a B20, you could get Golden Eagle to resleeve your B18C5 to 84.5mm or larger... better than a B20 with the same displacement... and if you ever decide to go forced induction, drop in some lower compression pistons and you already have a block that Golden Eagle says will handle 40psi...

I have a B20Vtec in my crx with 20k miles on now, The bottom has Endyn Pistons, rods , Balance crank and There oil pump. The head is a stock type R with stock cams ans it makes 205whp and 155tq , I drive it everyday and it will run to 9,000 rpm no worries, If you use good parts it be reliable and will make more torque the a B18C5 hands down. Build it right or build it twice !.

cracked sleeves....why?
I thought B20's had the strongest sleeves out of all the b series engines.

...no more costly than finding a good B20... unless your finding one in someone else's car that is....

Not unless you run a ls or crv crank.

so going to 2.0, either with a b20 or sleeving the b18, what components could you reuse? head, IM of course, what about crank? rods? i know you'd need new pistons...

just curious
