car doesn`t shift correctly and starts hard ,or not at all help !!!! thanks

most talk about the light going on then off , mine stays on ,the car shifts wrong sometimes won`t start won`t down shift

if the light stays on it usually indicates that the TCU has failed. Doa search on that and you will find a crap load of threads on it.

It's just like the check-engine light, but for the tranny. Read codes just like reading CEL codes. Jumper the same wire, but the D4 light will flash instead (or along with) the CEL.
