Default 5 Band equalizer and 3 way crossover ques.'s

I have a CDA-9835 ( Alpine ) Head unit. It has a 5 band eqaulizer, and a three way crossover built into it. My ques is I dont know how to set it on a realistic setting. Im workin with a w7 10" and 45 watts by four on a Jl amp with Jl Speakers all around. In an 02 Si. I feel like im getting to much bass in the front door speakers, but have tried to work it out, and was wondering what would be recommended as far as its settings? I dont know what the settongs on the EQ are in comparison to what im hearing technically and not what I think sounds right, cause obviously I cant get it right. As well as what do I set the amp on. And sorry I dont know all the lingo as for as bandwidth, frequency, and so forth, I dont really know what any of that is, So If anyone feels like explaining I'm All ears.

i have the same headunit.

i wish i knew the technical terms. When adjusting the x-overs, the front speakers are the "highs". (the sub is the "low" and the rear speakers are the "mids"). change the numerical value, i think alpine calls it the steepness of the band or something, from its default of 0 to 3 or 4. then adjust the crossover to get a sound similar to what you want. after that, adjust the numerical value to adjust the sound once more. once you finish, hold down one of the preset keys (the ones for your radio presets) in order to save the settings. then just return out of the menu.

if you need anything more in depth PM me, i'll be happy to help. i may just look up the terms as well.

I Got that, but thank you for replying, I was more looking for people to tell me how they have theres set litteraly for comparison to mine. I know thats time consuming though so if anyone is feeling froggy, please. And if you can explain all the terms, I'm sure the common knowlege is welcome. Thanx

All crossover settings, EQ settings and time alignment/correction settings are done in the HU the only settings that needs to be set on amp (s) is gain.

Do you have an owners guide for the HU? If not go to Alpine.com and download it, have you read about i-Personalize, if not do so. 94
