Does anyone live in Oregon? Cold air intake = bad idea? Help!!!
So I have been debating for many weeks now on what I should do... I was seriously thinking about getting an AEM V2 intake, but heard many people complaining about heat soak.. Then again, everyone has heard the horror stories of hydrolock - although I have never actually seen anyone do that as of yet.
My main question: Is there anyone on here in Oregon/a rainy state have a CAI? It basically rains all winter here, 30+ days straight at a time, and 7+ days of rain is common in a month.
Or should I just go SRI? Oregon doesn't get too hot during the summer time. Mostly lower than 90 at all times - above 90 is defintely a very hot day in Oregon. In this case, should I have to worry about heat soak?
As you can see, I'm stumbled on what to do/get. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I live almost a whole country away in Kentucky, but decided not to get a CAI, because of all the rain we get. Just last week it rained every day. I guess I am of the opinion if you live someplace that is not Southern California and you get regular rain why chance the CAI.
i live in mn. and when i bought my 02 type s the salesman at dealership advised me against cai's. he said they had at least 2 hydrolocked rsxs that had used cai's that he knew of. and at 8 to 10 grand a motor(dealer price) only way ill use a cai will be a track only affair.
i live in Tacoma and have had my CAI since i bought my car brand new 2003. I just avoid all puddles. no biggie
Just get a Bypass sleeve ( sometimes called a bypass valve ) you can get them off e-bay for cheap!! i live here in so cal and last year we had bout 3 months of on and off rain , and i did just fine. i had a injen cai, but the v2 is good as well.
