Default Dynoed my car today :)

Well the mustang club I use to be VP of had their annual dyno day. I am good friend with everyone so they keep me around and they let me pull

I am very pleased with the numbers.

199rwhp with 132ftlbs. Bone stock with 54k on the clock, much better then I expected. I will have a graph early next week.

I posted a higher HP # then 3 mustangs (5.0 suck stock) but killed in the torque. And I raced and beat a similar car to the one I got rid off, but it was close.

My next questions is for a performance mod, is a test pipe worth it? and does it trip a CEL? and if so what can you do about it, install SIMS?

Test pipe may buy you a bit more hp.

It will trip a code. The spark plug anti-fouler trick works on the s2k.

http://www.s2ki.com/forums/ind...29959

Note: some test pipes are now being offered with a built in extension for the O2 sensor so you do not need this trick. The Berk is one. However it is cheaper to do this simple mod rather than buy a pipe that already incorporates the extension.

Not true.. it's still about the same price... give and take 5-10 bucks for shipping....

the berk is like 99 bucks with the extension... t1r is like 99 bucks without the extension... if you go for the j's, jic, spoon yada yada.. you'd be paying like 250+

Also have to consider the Invidia and the Megan test pipes, both of which I've seen in the $80 range. T1R test pipe has gone up in price due to exchange rate USD to CAN and due to addition of mounting brackets for a heat shield. But used early versions of the T1R are frequently sold for $50-60.

Even if it did lose 1hp at 2000rpm, I certainly don't try to race at that RPM.

Man.. what is going on here.

i am getting ready to pick up my S2K.
The guy i am buying it form dynoed the car

Here is some info on the car

AP1
Fujitsubo Legalis-R Exhaust
Berk Test Pipe
K&N Drop-In
VAFC II + Frog Harness + Tuned

He Dynoed at 195.10hp & 130.31tq on a dynoJet
He said the Stock intake is holding him back.

How come it seems this car is putting down less numbers then a Stock S (like - 01S2KGrey car)

Here is a graph

I put a Berks testpipe on a few weeks back. I already had an HKS dual. I absolutely love the sound. I haven't dynoed but it feels like it's pulling noticeably harder after vtec. Gotta love the sound!

Well it looks like its an overlay graph, pre and post mods. The car was a tad rich on the blue and looks like they leaned it out on the red side to make some power. The torque curve is certianly better on the red right from the start.

The 190 is a OK number for a stock car, I would expect it to be in the mid 190's though in stock trim. I imagine mine dynoed strong, better then my guess of 194, and consistent, 198.xx, 199.xx, 198.xx A/F stayed steady and no miss.

I imagine the stock intake maybe holding you back a bit.

Once I get my graph I will post it up and we should be able to tell if the mods caused a shift in the power curve. Just because I dynoed a bigger number doesn't make me any faster.

It's all about the area under the curve.

I am pretty sure the second (red) tune was just a fine tune from the original

The VAFC was only to even out the A/F

i am happy with the 195, i am sure it will see nicer numbers when i put an Intake on it.
And maybe a header

I hear the Megan header see's about a 7hp gain ?

I was just wondering, because i read where 2 Stock S's are pushing more then this modified S
It’s not that big of a deference, and I am sure clement and other variables will effect the number slightly

BONE STOCK

I had the car for 4 days before I threw it up on the rollers.

I am very pleased with the numbers.

My AP1 dyno'd 199.8 and 132 ft/lbs tq on a local dynojet a few weeks ago.
Pretty good for 100% stock with close to 100K on it

this may be a newb question (which i kinda am as far as s2000's and the f20) but why is the engine not run to redline, 9k? does the power drop off considerably?

or is it just because it peaks around 8400?

also, shouldnt it hold around the peak hp all the way to redline?

(im looking to sell the turbo teg for a s2k. prob an ap2)

how does the ap2 graph look in comparison/

It's primarly to do with the tach signal. The dash may be off or the tach signal to the dyno jet is off.

But you can see the power is already dropping off 8400...

Plus the dyno jet around me isn't use to running cars to 9k all the time

i dynoed my stock ap1 a week or two ago on a dyno dynamics dyno. and made 206whp (didnt' get a tq read out):

bone stock except for a K&N filter. I've heard this was pretty high but even with the previous owner it dynoed 210whp on a dyno jet. sorry to thread jack. just wanted to compare and see what peple think. the car has almost 90k on the clock too.

Is that corrected? I would post a 204 uncorrected.

If so that is a strong number for the car.

Probably wasn't corrected then. It takes a bit to set it up and if the shop didn't program to correct automatically they are giving out inflated numbers.

But you still would post a 200 in a worst case. So I still would be pleased with your number. 5hp here or there is nothing between dynos.

Good numbers Go '01 AP1s!
