Just crashed my 2000 prelude!
Ok,I now have a 2000 5sp base lude sitting on my driveway which has no collision coverage. The engine and transmission look like it is in good condition. You can probably guess what I have planned for the engine. It would cost more than the car to repair.Currently I am looking for a 96-00 Civic hatch and I have a few questions.
1)How difficult is the install? I plan on keeping everything obd2.
2)What additional parts will I need? What parts will I have to replace on the civic? ex.radiator, axles?
3)How much would an install cost?Extras?
4)Should I buy a civic or prelude exhaust?Custom?
5)Will an aem cai fit in the engine bay of the civic or do I need a custom intake?
Thanks :

Ahhh...sweet H22 hybrids, I love 'em! Good and solid. I would strongly recommend taking this to an experienced shop for the swap. It's not as easy a swap as B series motors. You'll need custom engine mounts (HASport makes some I believe) and not sure about which axles to use, I know it's not the Prelude axles for sure. You can keep your stock radiator. Install would range anywhere from $700-1500 I would think. You'd need to get an aftermarket exhaust system made for the Civic and customize in order to fit the cat on. I highly doubt the Prelude CAI will fit but it wouldn't hurt to try if you already have it.
Let us know how it turns out - H22 swaps aren't that common on this board.
Oh yeah, welcome!

How bad is the damage? Are you sure it would cost more than the car to fix? A 2000 Prelude has to be worth more than $10K I'm assuming. If the damage isn't TOO bad, you might consider just selling it as is. There are plenty of people out there who do body work themselves and they look for crashed cars to fix up themselves to save some money.
I had a 92 Civic Si hatch that I got into an accident with....I then bought a 94 Civic Si, swapped over my aftermarket parts and sold the wrecked 92 for $2000. I'm sure you could get much more for your Prelude. Note: The 92 hatch tboned by a Lexus LS400 and had a lot of damage including frame damage on it. Just something for you to think about. Good luck.

It would probably cost around 20,000 canadian to fix.It is not only the front that is damaged, the back end is totalled as well. The only thing worth keeping right now is the seats, engine, and wheels.Would I be able to swap the prelude's brakes onto a 6th gen civic?Wheels?Gauge cluster?
the thing to do would be get a 6th gen hatch (if that's what you want), and start seeing what fits/what doesn't
note: i doubt much of anything will fit without modifications- brakes, cluster, wheels (no, ludes are 5 lug). seats might fit with modifications to the rails.
