15's or 16's on hatch? rims
but then im going to have to drop it more if i get 15's im thinking of 16's cause i think 15's are just a bit too small and im going to get some light rims so ti weight dosent effect alot....so what do u guys think now?....thanx
but i dont want to be toooooo low.....thats the reason why? and i want the rim to look bigger......but i guess 15's are better is what everyoen is saying..but im still bot sure on either one so if soemone can gimme a good reason o why 15's are better????....sorry to bother u guys...thanx alot

15's are lighter and narrower. Less rotating mass means faster accelaration. Narrower tires mean less friction. For a car that weighs 2200-2400 lbs +/-, 195mm of contact area is MORE than enough.
i do have DTMs in 16 right now and i always get compliments on them. about how they look good. i plan on getting some 15s in the future cause im more on performance. 16s are good too, just not as good. its better than 17s or 18s. JMO.
16s arnt too big, that the biggest i would go though.

I like 16" wheels...good balance between looks and performance. I mean, if you're going for aftermarket wheels, why pay for a 15" wheel when you already have wheels that size stock from the factory? I would only get 15's if you intend to road race or compete. 16's for daily driving.
16'' wheels on an EG are more likely to scrub thatn on an 1996-up civic. Eg has smaller wheel wells, so that means the wider 16'' wheels will scrub more easily...
I had 16's and I will never go back - 15's for me.
Let's also mention that there are much better tires in terms of stickiness in 195-50-15 and 205-50-15 as opposed to the 205-40-16 size that you would run on an EG.
16'' tires in that size are sporty "looking" but are uaually hard as a rock.

im still decideing on which 1 to get? people have good reasons for 15's and other people have good reasons for 16's. so im squared up in this situation??? help please
it seems as though you are torn between looks and performance...
basically here is what i think:
15s - better performance, look good
16s - less performance, look better (if you like bigger sized rims - obviously)
so i guess it comes down to your preference...
i would compare pictures of hatches with the 2 difference wheel sizes
hope this helps...

What the hell good reasons are there for getting 16's?
They are:
1. Heavier
2. Have less tire options and have shitty tires at that (high-*** treadware ratings)
3. More expensive
4. Tires are more expensive
5. More likely to scrub
6. Did I mention that they are heavier?
Looks are subjective. On an EG 15x6.5 and 15x7 with the correct offset IMO look the absolute best.
Looks are the only reason I can see anyone saying 16's, but the facts are stated above.

Oh, and there was never a 15'' wheel offered on the USDM 1992-1995 Civic.
On a 1996-up Civic I'd say 16's are just fine. They have bigger wheelwells and you can run the better sizes, like 205-45-16 and 215-45-16. Much better tires there than the 205-40-16 that you have to run on an EG.
15 IS plus size for the 1992-1995 Civic.

Agian, we're talking about a 1992-1995 Civic, NOT a 1996-up one!

16's are just great on the 1996-up Civics for the reasons previously stated above.
