I bought a S2000 2004 model,and was using Shell optimax (98 octane). I always used this fuel because if its good enough for Ferrari .....!
I was experiencing engine "knock" when driving up my steep driveway. When I questioned my honda dealer with this problem,the service guys said to use mobil or BP high octane fuel instead..Has anyone had this problem with their S2000 ??

 

ive heard that cheveron does pretty good, i normly try and stick to like chevron, bp or shell

 

98oct how the hell does it knock on that?

all we have in ca is 91oct & s2000's seem to do fine on that.

 

Never been a fan of Shell. Chevron 92 all the way here in Oregon. If you are still worried, try a Toluene mix. Up to 30% Toluene mix w/ 92 will yield 98.6 Octane. I run that in my race rabbit, and it rules.

 

just realized ur in australlia. do u know what method they use there for figuing out octane ratings? because it could be a different method then what the US uses, which would make the 98, not really 98 based on our standards. but it should still be a pretty high octane rating.

 

I like to stick with Shell 91 octane here in cali is the highest in most places...but I have heard that there is a gas station 76 with 100 octane near here....??wish I could find it if it was true...

 

i usualy buy sunoco ultra 94 here alot of people use it and dont have any problems with it
