I got some bolts holding the manifold stripping.

you cannot put a socket on either of them because the runned of the manifold are in the way, so I cannot even put a bolt out tool on there!


Any ideas?

Ohh ok you beat me to it lol and how about one of those ratcheting open ended wrenches or is the nut totally stripped?

 

im sure theres a better way, but id try locking the biggest pair of vise grips on there i could as tight as i could

 

put a wrnch open ended side on the nut and tac weld it on the nut

Hit it straight down to put a groove in it, then hit the groove to the left to loosen it.

 

sawzall..................cut that beotch off! and then use an extractor tool..haha

 

any other ideas would be awesome

that's what i would do, or you could just put two more nuts on there and tighten and put 12mm open end wrench on the nut closet to the stripped nut and take the whole stud out like that with out welding

 

i know what you mean about the sears extractors. You gotta have enough room to use those

 

you could weld anothe rnut to it. and turn that muthafucker

That would work great

or if you cant do it that way and all else fails....

Take a punch and hammer and beat it until the stud breaks off. Take the manifold off and replace the stud w/ a new one and put on a new nut

when I run into problem like that I cut it off with a dremel. or use a vise grip.

 

in those situations I always weld a good nut on top of the stripped nut and then use the combination wrench to turn the new nut...It works great...when you cant get the srew outs and stuff in there.

 

i guess i am the only one that has done this.... My nuts for 12mm so i took a 11mm open end wrench and hammered it on the nut its pretty easy then tap the wrench a few times and then pull the wrench like you are taking the nut off should be good to go, everytime i take my turbomani off aslteast 1 nut decides it wants to be taken off with a 11mm then the regular 12mm hope that helps, saves me alot of time then the hammer and chisel i did it this way the first time a fucked up my stud....

no he will roundhouse kick the manifold off without even ******* up the studs in the head.


i had the same problem before, i just did like the other guys said, tack weld a good nut on the stripped nut and then you will be able to take it off.

You wuss just get some vise grips.

 

You guys that are suggesting welding a nut on the end of it, have you even looked at the pic??

 

lube, heat, vice grips... If thta doesnt work id cut it off, if i couldnt ive drilled them down and cracked them apart, or double nutted the stud out.
