Which exhaust for EG w/ Comptech Rear Sway/Tie Bar Combo?
What's up guys. Question. I am running a Comptech Rear Sway/Tie Bar combo on my EG and was wondering what people with the same up are running for an exhaust. The reason I ask is because I was running an ES oval w/ custom piping and the piping would rub and touch the sway bar. I am basically looking for an exhaust set up that will clear the sway bar. Anyone with this set up on their EG hatch, please chime in. I need suggestions. I went with an HKS hiper, under the LCA but it hangs way too low and scrapes all the damn time. HELP!
any over the lca exhaust systems would work. Ive seen the RS*R GTII that goes under the fuel tank clearing comptech's and even ASR reinforcement kits but theyre just plain low
take it to a muffler shop and have them rectify the problem... i noticed your in cali and i used to get pulled over all the time for modified exhaust... the e's oval is a nice little muffler and looks stock

like i said, i ran custom... the es oval was too long of a canister and the inlet of the can sat on top of the sway bar... the issue is EGs never came with a rear sway... i want to make sure that an exhaust system works from someone that had one on their EG. i tried having a muffler shop try to do something about it rubbing with the ES oval... couldnt do anything because the inlet of the muffler still sat at the some place... right on top of the sway bar... touching it... i dont want to go with an under LCA exhaust.. thats what im doing now... its wayyyy too low... my can scrapes and sparks... i don't want it. Someone with a Comptech setup on their EG.... please chime in!

you talking about it sits on top of the tie-bar... still not quite sure why they wouldn't be able to help you with this...i've had multiple exhausts on my eg and no problems (5Zigen Miracle Fireball/Apex-i WS/Stock GSR exhaust welded to a straight pipe)... anyways, bump so until you find the answer you're looking for

no. it sits on top of the sway bar... it comes down to how big the canister is... if the canister is too long... the inlet of the muffler will be where the sway bar is. Note that the sway bar is closer to the bumper than the control arm is...

I will try that
The only reason that might not work is beause the sway/tie bar combo was initially made for the dc chassis, not the EG chassis. the measurements and lengths from the back bumper to the rear control arm are probably different.

actually they did make a tie bar for civics with existing rear sways. which bar in particular did you buy?

thats true, the comptech sway/tir bar combo is made for integras. but it doesn't really matter because civics and integra suspension parts are interchangable. besides that, i read on the comptech website that you can have a tight clearance on SOME aftermarket exhaust. and which of those exhaust are SOME? i dont know. but yeah. i want to get one myself but im a little concerned about that problem. i have a greddy sp2 exhaust. by the way, how does the sway/tie bar handle? good? bad? fantastic?

Well...I live in So Cal too, and before my car was stolen I had been drivin for about 8 months with no muffler, and never got stopped once by a cop. I even raced at Qualcomm and they never gave me crap about bein loud. I only got a single cam with minor mods, but still, with the cat it isnt that loud. Just go to a muffler shop and have em make a short turn down so it doesnt turn everything black right behind it.

i have the same problem except it's on a EJ/EK hatch. On monday i'm gonna take it down to the local race and fab shop to see if they can do anything to to make my greddy sp2 fit with the comptech rear sway bar.
