Look in the showroom for the XTR2. it's powered by a hayabusa engine --
the 1300cc monster from suzuki that's good for 180 hp and 102 lb-ft of
torque... not bad for a 410 kilogram car (904 lbs).

Can someone please build a kit like this, or a formula kit, that will work with a
D series motor? We need something fun to do with all the motors that come out of cars when people go hybrid. I've been considering something like it for a while...need help with the motor turning the backwards/trans being on the wrong end thing
I'm not an engineer obviously
Ever heard of anyone doing this?

If you get a chance, you might take a look at a Spec Racer (aka Sports Renault). They put a 1.7 Alliance/Encore drivetrain in the back of a simple square tube chassis and even used the stock uprights as I recall. They were updated to Ford engines but the concept is the same. You just have to keep the "front" of the engine in front, even if it is in the "back" of the car.
