Just did a timing belt and water pump on my girlfriends 01 Civic. Put everything back together and started the car up...timing is not right...car starts, but is seriously bogging and running rough. Please tell me how to set TDC on the head and the crank. Unless you think it might be something else. 4 hours on this project...with another 4 to go it seems. Thanks in advance.

Well, I broke down and bought a Haynes manual (I was desperate), and found the answer.
Cam shaft TDC:
On the cam sprocket, align the word "UP" at the 12 o'clock position. There are also 2 hash marks on the gear that align with the mating surface of the head and block (hard to align when the engine is still in the engine bay).
Crank shaft TDC:
When you remove the crank shaft pulley (bolt is not reverse threaded...but it did take a 3/4" impact gun and socket). there is a sprocket on the timing gear. On the sprocket is a dash that will align with the word "UP" (at about the 1 o'clock position).
Note for anyone replacing the timing belt and water pump. I found no reverse threads.
