Default Using a wideband PLX device M-300 with 2000 Honda Civic HX?

Does anybody know if I can use a wideband PLX device M-300 with a wideband LINEAR output or a Narrowband analog output to replace the stock wideband sensor signal wire on a Honda 2000 Civic HX ? If I can HOW?

I can't give you a concrete answer, but I remember reading in some thread in here that you can't use an aftermaket wideband in an HX.

Maybe if you converted over to OBD-I?

If i use a wideband to replace the sensor it should work right, because it has a 0-5v wideband signal output it should give the same signal right?

Yo man I did some research and my vtec comes in at 3k rpm so if I change to obd1 Ill have a problem cause vtec will come in at 5k rpm so my engine is gonna suffer for air between 3k-5k enless theres a obd1 ecu with vtec at 3k.

I'll sell ya my o2 sensor and ecu outta my VX. I'm LS swapping the car and don't need it anymore. The o2 sensor alone is $300+ from Honda.

I dont think is the same because your sensor is a 18mm sensor the one on the hx is a 22mm o2 sensor. Thanks anyways

Do you want to change the o2 for tuning perposes or for an oem replacement?

straight answer to your original question.... no.
the HX used a wideband as it's O2. feeding a narrow band O2 input into it will confuse it drastically.

Also since the HX ECU has it's own wideband controller built into it feeding the wideband signal into it would also confuse it.

The only way to run an aftermarket wideband on an HX is to switch ECUs.

well I do in the future but right now I dont have any sensor so the check engine light is on and the car is running like ****, because like you propably know the ecu is most likely running on safe mode the stock 5wire o2 sensor is like 300 to 400 dollars so I was looking for something to do thats worth 300 to 400 dollars then spending it on a oem sensor.

thanks for the info Relic1, but if I change the ecu what should I change it to because the hx vtec comes in at 3k rpm and every other civic the vtec is at 5k if I change it most likely the car is gonna suffer for air between 3k-5k rpm. Right?

You can probably make the car obd1 and use a VX ecu and o2 sensor for less than $300. I'm swapping my car so I would sell you the exhaust mani(since you think the o2 is a different size), ecu and o2 sensor for a reasonable price. PM me if interested. By the way the VX ecu should be about the same as the HX. They are both Vtec E and they both use wideband o2 sensors. Vtec engages at about the same points.

Hey thanks for the info 92_VX_EG, let me know how much i dont have PM or IM yet cause im still on trial, but let me know cause I am interested, I dont see why it shouldnt work enless the manifold doent fit, plus obd1 is better anyways especially for performance.

So now you're going to buy a Vx ECU, its WBO2 sensor and exhaust manifold, and a conversion harness all just to fix the fact that you presently don't have a stock WBO2 for your Hx??

Finding an OEM sensor is going to save you so many more headaches than going this convaluted route you're going. What about emissions?? OBD1 ECU can't communicate with OBD2 scantools.
