Skunk2 Wheel Studs - Good or Bad?
Just curious. I did a search, but as you may or may not know the search function sucks right now.
Has anyone here used them, and are they good quality?
I read in the competiton forum that some people used ARP studs because they are better, but they have to be "modded" to fit or something.
Please no lectures about why or why not to use extended wheel studs in general please - I just want to know if the Skunk2s are good or not.
Their lug nuts suck ********. I had a set and not only are they soft, but no std. or metris socket fits them correctly and they are big.
Anyone used them or seen good or bad from the studs?

Hey Tom, IM Jeff Sloan. I think his screen name is Jeff652 or something like that. He had a post about
the Skunk2 wheel Studs.
But i think he went with ARP wheel studs.

i read a while back where they like to hold onto the lugs nuts, i also read about people ringing them off very easily. i got the arp's as soon as i read that they are for a vette but all you have to do is grind just a little off the part that bites into teh hub its not bad at all. also the arp's are of a higher tensile strength that the skunks. i wish i had read something about the skunk lugs becuase i just ordered a set so they are soft they cant be no worse than teh kyokugens or can they?
thanks

Kyokugens are not soft comapard to Skunk2 lugs. I've *heard* the Kyokugen wheel KEY is a pile of ****, but I've not had any problems with mine.
The Skunk2 lugs were soft as hell. Again, I could not find any one size that fit perfect in terms of the socket for them - it was always a bit loose. this leads to very easily stripped lugs, so what's the point? Plus they are big and may not fit in wheels like Rotas, etc.
So where did you guys get your ARP wheel studs? How much too?

i ALSO think people said they where stripping the stud too...
But i have the skunk2 lugs, nothing special besides how light they are and the color. I've had them on for over six months now, i always tighten them by hand and then torque them down. But these also dont lock, I think they are mainly for track use. If your looking at them for locks then you shouldnt have got those.
B18,
i meant that the key to the kypkuges is soft i striiped mine with 80ftlbs on the damn torque wrench but i believe a metric socket fits it real well i think its well i wont say do to theives but one does fit put it that way.
i got my arps from summit it was 11 dollars for a set of 5 the part number is
ARP-100-7708
this is what it says on the package its for a vette by the way but works with some trimming not much though.
thanks
