Basically, the knock sensor is broken on my motor. Im wondering if im fine running without the knock sensor or what. From my knowledge, all it does is tell me when my motor is detonating....which it isn't even running lean at all...

Someone here told me that the p30 uses the knock sensor to advance/retard the timing in case of detonation..which sounds reasonable...but im not too sure

Also, my brother has a LS that he doesn't want...can I pull out the knock sensor from his motor and use it in mine? Or will it be diffrent due to the displacement or something?


Sorry if I sound like a tard but all the answers I get confuse the hell out of me

 

you can use the one from the LS, just check to see if the plugs are the same.

 

the harness I have in there is a d15 harness....everything plugs up but vtec and knock sensor (and o2 sensor I think). have the other two wired up, just need to wire in knock sensor...
