Help!!! ac belt removal
i'm in the middle of changing my alternator/belt and in order for me to change the alt. belt, i need to move the ac compressor belt. i have a haynes manual and their picture of the "loosening" of the belt is different from under the hood of my car. i dont know which bolts to loosen. i dont know how to host pics either. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks (car is a 1995 civic hatch-d15b7)
You have to loosen the bolt that goes through the bracket (the one Haynes shows) then you also have to loosen the nut that holds the pulley on too.
i see two bolts holding the compressor on the bracket. do i just loosen one of them? for the nut that holds the pulley, is it a long vertical one, not the nut itself but the stick/thread holding it? (i'm looking down from the front of the bay) thanks
You don't have to remove the compressor from the backet. You only have to loosen the tensioner pulley to be able to move the A/C belt out of the way.
The long nut/threaded stick needs to backed off a good way and then loosen the nut on the side of that pulley and then the whole thing should slide down enough for you to move the A/C belt off of the crank pulley.

hey thanks for the help. i got it to move and change the alt/belt. everything went smooth, but when i plugged the negative back onto the battery, i opened my door to get something and the alarm started to chirp and make a clicking noise. i tried the lock/unlock buttons on the remote but no luck. so i unplugged the negative on the battery bcuz it was the only way to stop the noise. i changed the battery on my alarm pad then plugged the negative back in and it still made that noise. how do i fix that? thanks

If it's an old alarm you should put the starter wire back together and cut power to the alarm brain. Then go get a new alarm.
Maybe you can try reprogramming the remote if you're able to identify the alarm and then download the manual from the12volt.com .
