I've borrowed a small aluminum ramp and it sucks. It takes 3 people to get the bike up and i'm always worried i'm going to drop it. I would really like to have an ATV ramp, and be able to walk it up the ramp myself with the clutch.

Any ramp that is slightly curved (to help clear the lower fairing, if you have one of those weird thingies) will suffice to get a bike up onto a truck. If you have a multi-fold ramp, then you could walk up the ramp with the bike. Otherwise, have two friends to help you push the bike up and hold the bike steady while you reposition yourself. Or, with the multi-fold one, you could ride the bike up onto the truck.
Use tie-downs to carry it when it's in the bed. I haven't had any problems with the cam-type tie-downs, but that depends on the quality of the tie-down you purchase.

I have a couple friends that made their own ramps that I find great for single person loading. The ramps are about the width of the truck bed and about 6' long (the ramp folds lengthwise). I'll try to take a pic in a couple days

me and a buddy pick his up all the time and load/unload out of his truck. Best bet is to just spend the 5-600 bucks on a small open trailer with a ramp. Makes life so much easier.

this is how i got my f4i home, we backed the pickup to the drive way, where the tires are in the gutter so when you drop the gate its only like 12-18 inches above the driveway, then get two guys and lift from the fork and set the front wheel in the truck.
have a friend get in the bed and hold the wheel straight and roll it forward almost hitting the under side on the truck gate. (you got the picture right!)
then lift from the swing arm and push it forward in the truck, it will roll right in.
so two strong guys and someone to hold the wheel straight.
then just two tie downs at least. with the front fork like 50-75% compressed

If you hit a bump the suspension will compress and the tie downs fill fall off.

Yeah 3 guys can put a bike in back of a tahoe.. no ramps needed, that's how I did it. You have to take off the front and rear turn signals though

Good question - I took the gas tank off and drained ALL of the gas before hand. I thought oil would seep into the cylinders and cause problems, but I let it sit for a few days before I started it.. it started right up with just a little smoke. It was running perfectly after about 10 minutes of letting it idle and randomly revving it.

I use this yellow extendable one thats plastic.. i dont know what brand it is but it works pretty good. I have a 93 ford aerostar and we fit 2 gixxers in the back of it without thinking twice!
