Default 92 accord ex automatic wont shift out of park

I woke up this morning, jumped in my car and I could not get it to shift out of park. It is just stuck. Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you boys!

Lock up Control Solonoid is acting up, It keeps you from putting the car into gear without your foot on the pedal. Start your car and listen near the shifter for a clicking sound when you put your foot on the pedal.

Maybe a blown fuse, or rarely but possible the lock up control went bad or un-hooked. My bets on the fuse.

If you don't hear a clicking sound when you push the brake pedal down, it's probably the brake light switch. Located near brake pedal arm. If your brake lights don't work, it's the switch. The solenoid under center console, rarely goes out.

Of course as a temporary fix you can shove your extra key in that little slot beside the shifter. I would not keep it that way but it will work until you fix the problem.

you are forgetting about the fuse......if blown, lites do not work and it won't get out of park..

blow the horn,, if it works fuse is ok,, and most likely the problem is as blkflsh said ,,,, Horn and brake lite share the same fuse ..

Using the key in the slot will take it out of park regardless of fuse condition, But BLKFLSH is right! There is a problem in the brake light circuit and you don't want to drive a car around without brake lights!
