Default My L/S VTEC dyno numbers at Import Builders

I had my L/S VTEC at Import Builders yesterday and Jeff dialed it in for me.Peak numbers were O.K. : 174 peak horsepower and 126-128 peak torque (I forgot to ask for a printout). Jeff was able to really smooth out the power curve with the Hondata. I'm just curious what kind of numbers other L/S VTECs are putting out. I am running 2001 ITR cams, and I think that with some bigger cams like the Jun3's or Skunk2 Stage2's peak hp would improve significantly. Anybody else have dyno numbers for their L/S VTECs? What kind of 1/4 mile times should I expect out of my Civic coupe with this setup?

With different cams, pistons and so on, my LS/VTEC put down 206 and 146 ft-lbs...

your cams are fine but i think if you want more power you should raise your compression? besides that, you could also get a port and polish job. those are the only two real power adders off the top of my head. i had a friend w/ ls/vtec for several years, it was quite nice until it spit oil everywhere.

My LS/VTEC dynoed at 205/150 at ImportBuilders as well. It was their package 2.
Cams were only Skunk2 stage 1's w/ high compression pistons.

Head is B16a , already ported. Pistons are USDM Type-R which yields about an 10.4 to 1 compression ratio with this head, I believe. 10.6 to 1 with Type-R or B16a2 cylinder head. How much compression are we talking with your motor(s)? I am shooting for over 200 whp too.

over 12:1. Jeff didn't tell me exactly, but said it was a little over that.

What kind of engine management system are you running with 12:1 + compression ? How are your 1/4 mile times? Sounds like you have a pretty sweet motor there.

NA? Yes. Wiseco/Endyn pistons, static compression is 12.379:1. Cams are TODA Spec C. Engine management is Hondata. Going back to the dyno Saturday to see if the motor will make any more power, or like different settings now that it is broken in...

Hondata Stage 2, tunned by Jeff. I haven't ran it yet, I just got my car back 2 weeks ago. I'm anxious though.

Hondata seems like the way to go. I like the way mine works since Jeff dialed it in. Looks like I need to bump the compression up on the LS/VTEC if I want to get over 200 whp. That motor is coming out soon, and I am putting my 1932cc GSR engine back in. I am going to put in a set of the Skunk2 Stage2's and dyno again. I might pick up a set of the Stage3's too, and see what they are capable of, but I don't think I will use them on a daily basis. Maybe just use them at the track. Thanks for all the info guys.
