HELP! My car have annoying hesitation
My 99 EK has slight hesitation that annoy me so much when I'm crusing on highway at low RPM (~2000) every several minutes.
When that occur, my car can still keep the speed on highway, but it is more difficult to accerate, when I put my foot deeper and the sound from the exhaust is a bit rough.
The car:
-everthing stock
-starts fine
-idle fine at 600-700rpm
-No burns of oil/water
-No bumpy techo. needle
-No code
-No CEL
Things tried:
- NGK/OEM Spark Plug Wire Swap, both no helps.
- Replaced with new NGK spark plugs, no helps.
- Replaced new Engine Oil+Oil Filter, no helps.
- Replaced new Fuel Filter, no helps.
- Fuel injector cleaner pouered to fuel tank, no change.
- Cleaned throttle body by spraying TB cleaner in, no helps
- Replaced my rotor & cap with honda genuine parts, no helps.
Just checked my coil:
(between + and - terminals) : 1.3ohm
(between + & 'spring') : 16.42ohm
is it within spec?
Actually the cars runs very fine if it doesn't hesitate.
For example, I can easily rev it to 7000rpm in neutral, and back to idle perfectly and never stall.
That hesitate always occurs at highway crusing(Maybe I can call it a load), @4th/5th.
When hesitate, if I press the clutch and keep the throttle, the rev can will raise up (very normal), release the clutch then rev drop back, and hesitate again.
And.....anything I can do to solve this????

Shift to 3rd then stomp on it.... If ur crusin 70 in 5th grear.. and your car is stock, it will not get up and go unless you go to a lower gear..
Exactly what model of civic do yo have? My HX will do something similar when I'm cruising at between 2k and 3k rpms.
In my case it's right around the vtec-e cross over from 12 valves to 16 and when it drops back to 12 valves it can seem like the car is hesitating.

The situation is that, when the hesitation occur it is like my engine is having misfire which have some bogging, loss of power.
I'm from HK so my civic is JDM instead of USDM. It has a D15 3-stage VTEC engine, so it has the 12-valve VTEC-E mechanism too.

Get a new o2 sensor. My Vtec E motor did the same thing. I changed the o2 sensor and it was just like when I bought the car. I'm swapping my car to an LS so if you need a good, cheap used o2 I have one. They're around $300+ from Honda.
it could be alot of things, exhaust leak, vaccuum leak.
I have a similar problem on when i slam on the gas, it just bogs out and doesnt give ANY power, even at 6000rpms. Ive tried everything. No cel, no codes
sometimes it works good when i run a ton of seafoam through the gas tank. And when it does work fine, I can get up to redline in 5th gear no problems.
There is so manythings it could be, TPS, MAP knock sensor is one, timing, compression, ignition, fuel, and air. Wow these problems are so hard to diagnose, because you replace something, it seems like it works, but only for a week and it returns.

Update.
I got a known good oxygen sensor and replaced it today. It is the sensor on the header. Result? No change.
Moreover, the situation is being little worse now, it is a bit sound like subaru (is it called bogging?). What i have done is replaced the blackened spark plug with new NGK spark plug (ZFR6J-11) which is the one stated in the manual.
Any more ideas?
