Default Clutch Delay Removal Adventure....

4:00pm - adam and i get off work and proceed to Osco. We buy a set of dental pics.

4:15pm - we get to his house to use the lift. took like 20 mins to get the bitch on there because the car's a little low. we had to used the stock jacks and jack up each side.

4:35pm - proceeded on taking out the clutch slave cylinder. got everything off... got to the part where we had to take the ring off... used the damn Osco Brand dental picks... ****!!!! they're all ******* soft and broke on us....

5:00pm - we try to ghetto rig some **** with the grinder and some hard metal.. NO ******* LUCK!!!! that was just a waste of 30mins

5:30pm - we drive to the closest Dental Office, LMAO... walked inside and asked the receptionist if i could have one of their used dental pics.... we got the most weirdest looks in the world.. no luck there either the dentist said that all their tools were out for cleaning.. DAMN

5:35pm - drove around a little bit to find another dental office. blam!!! we run into a medical supply store... yay!!! at the door it says ortho tools... ******* SWEET... went inside with the cylinder in my hand.. hahah... asked the guy for dental picks.. again NOTHING!!!!... the guy at the register asked why did we need one.. he had one in his bag... tried to help us get the damn ring out... sigh.. i was about to give up at this point.... he told us to go to the hardware store

6:00pm - go to the hardware store.... noone to lead us to the picks... found them!!! set of 4 for 10.00 bucks... i went outside then i saw Sak and them... they said go to the shop and use their tools... i go hell yea i ain't gotta buy ****...

6:10pm - got to the shop and asked casey for the picks and expletive no luck getting that **** out there.... we were there for a min and then decided to go back to the hardware store and go get that damn pick set...

6:30pm - bought the pick set. as we were on our way home.. i started picking at the ring... BAM!!! that mothaFUCKA came out within 2 fuckign mins... i was one mad mothafucka....

6:40pm - got back to the house. took the brass piece off with pliers and started picking at the delay to get that **** out... done.. time to put that **** back on

6:50pm - put the slave cylinder back on... i told adam to pump the clutch... OH expletive... brake fluid everywhere i was shocked... LIKE WTF can go wrong NOW!!!!!!!... pull that **** off and found that i had a tiny hole in the boot.. i'm like OMFG do i have to ******* buy another now... i thought i was going to have to park my car there until i get another cylinder... get on majestic honda ready to order another cylinder next day air... 105.00+... expletive THAT!!!! Called my homie Dang up and asked wtf could it be... he explained to me and told me what i could've did wrong... my *** didn't seat the ball joint in the socket where it's supposed to sit and be supported... bleeding took forever... now we're done

7:30pm - took the badboy for a test drive... WOW!!! major difference... took a 10-20min drive made sure nothing was leaking.. all is good... Thanks Adam and Dang for help and support

moral of this write up is... go get you a set of picks from a hardware store when doing this mod... it will save you a lot of time and frustration

if anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me.. i don't want anyone else to go through the same frustration that i went through

I believe it is a device that delays the drop in the engine speed when you push the clutch down between shifts, so as to protect the rear differential from damage from quick shifts.

basically you can't shift like tsuchiya with it without popping the diff.

Correct me if I'm wrong somebody. I don't remember the details.

It doesn't drop the engine speed, it slows the clutch's engagement.

Good job Lucky. Hope you like it.

Well.. I didn't say it drops the engine speed.
I assumed it just delayed the drop in engine speed after you push in the clutch.

Didn't know it does the opposite. Wow, that thing actually does not let your clutch engage for a split second! Ridiculous.

No, it means that either you need to rev-match better, or your synchros are crapped. Could be low tranny fluid also.

Is there a negative aspect to the clutch delay mechanism? I figure with the added torque of the F22C the less shock on clutch and the rear diff the better?

:shrugs:

More risk of blowing your diff. The reason I want to do this is that it's affecting my 1-2 and 2-3 shifts; I have no inention of launching my car (s2k isn't much of a drag car anyway)

It limits how fast you can shift as well. If you're quick-shifting at the tracks, your clutch smokes quite easily with the slip that the CDV induces. I've only launched my car about 3 times, all at the 1/4. Never again.
