motor clearance
I did a lsvtec swap in my 89 si hatch the sir head is causing the hood not to come down. I dont know if there is any jdm/clean solution to the problem. If anyone has any ideas Id like to know. hits on the intake side right next to the cam gear cover. thanks
Yeah, it depends you your motor mounts, but my buddy just cut out part of the hoods bracing, and it shuts perfectly. You are talking about the valve cover right? If so, you need to remove a small part of the under bracing to make it shut right. Goodluck, and cut carefully, grinder with a cutting blade works best
I got the hasport ls conversion...91 ls motor....93 sir b16 head....yeah the valve cover is what is not making it...if i cut that stuff wont that make the hood alot weaker in that point though...i dont want that hood to get dented by just lookin at the damn thing ya know what i mean. my cousin in tennessee said that the jdm version with the zc had a different hood of some sort with a scoop or something..true idk....want this to look clean as possible since its going to be a demon on the street and show stopper
It will not make the hood weaker, the main supports are on the sides, and this is only a small portion of the webbing. But if you are looking for an aftermarket CF hood, then go for it, but I have the ZC hood, and it's bump is on the drivers side, not the passengers side. Also my buddy had a JDM CF hood from VIS, and he still had to cut some of the webbing out to make his hood shut once dropping in the ls/vtec. Goodluck with your choice.
the hood is hitting on the driver side....i cut out the frame work there and i still hit...do you know anyone with the oem vis hood or zc hood that are willing to part with?
