Farewell GSR, hello 2006 Type S
I recently have sold my black 2000 GSR for a 2006 Type S. My choice of colour was Premium White Pearl and I accessorized it with the aluminum shift **** and high wing spoiler. We all know how sexy these cars look both inside and out, so there's no need to post any pics.
Performance wise, in comparison with the GSR [stock motor and tranny], I definitely notice the shorter gears, shorter clutch pedal travel, and quicker shift throws. The GSR felt like it had more grunt down low, especially below 3500rpm, but it's hard to tell which car is actually quicker at low rpm speeds. I most likely will be burning more gas shifting gears at higher rpms. Top end is obviously a different story.
To sum it up, I'm very content with the car. The only mods I can see myself wanting to do are an intake, for sound more than anything else, suspension mods, and maybe an LSD.
I had a Type R suspension setup on my GSR which felt amazing. I find myself wanting to beef up the rear sway bar again, but that's another story for another post.

Congratualations on the buy. You will love the new Type-S. It feels like the K20Z1 isn't fast enough...but thats because of how clean the powerband and as well as how clean the car runs in general that tricks you. I say go with a decent Suspension setup...i.e. Megans, tein's, Buddy Club's. and as well as a good tire and wheel combo. The superchargers for these things make alot more power than the original K20a2.

Thanks bud. I know what you're saying about the smooth powerband and sometimes when I look down at the speedometer I find I'm going faster than what it feels like - still gotta get used to it.
Besides that, I'm open to any suggestions about the rear sway bar size. Stock sizes are 26.5mm front/21mm rear.

Good stuff bud..
I did the same thing last yr. I have a White 05-S
After being stored during winter I have some mods done to her... if you get suspension go for the Zeal's coilover.. They are great..
p.s
if you want intake noise don't get the Mugen airbox... its makes less sounds then stock lol

You're not serious about this are you, Mugen is exactly what I was thinking and I like to hear my car when I step on it, not that stock is exactly quiet either.

I'd have to agree, I had an 00 Civic Si which was modded and it let me know that I was going fast, but in the S I am constantly feeling like I'm waiting to go, but when I look down I'm doing 90+!!! Still an awesome car though.
