Double-VANOS with variable ignition timing.

The way I've understand it is VTEC is not the same a VVT-i or VANOS. VTEC uses the rockers arms to follow low and high cam profiles in order to change the motor's characteristics. The way I've understood it, VVT-i and VANOS simply retard and advance cam timing to change the engine's characteristics. The K-series i-VTEC does both.

WRONG!!!!!

Vtec = Variable Timing and lift Electronic Control

i-vtec = Variable valve Timing and lift Electronic Control

I know what they stand for and yes I fully understand what each does, my question was simple...like the 2007 Camery V6...does the F-series motor have DUEL Variable valve timming, on the intake side...and the EXhaust side of the valve train?

i-vtec has variable valve timing on ONLY on the intake side!! (RSX-S)

Honda's equivalent to VVT-i is VTC (Variable Timing Control), which changes the phasing of the intake camshaft relative to the crank and the exhaust cam.

The S2000 doesn't have a VTC mechanism. Only the K-series engines have VTC.

The S2000 has DOHC VTEC, which is similar to Toyota's VVL (in a VVTL-i engine) in that it uses multiple camshaft lobe profiles to vary the duration and lift - however, VVTL-i engines also use a VVT-i mechanism to vary the camshaft phasing, which again the S2000 does not have.

This page is a little outdated because it was apparently written before Honda introduced VTC, but it still is a good read: http://www.billzilla.org/vvtvtec.htm

since we are "correcting" people, you are wrong.
vtec=Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control
i-vtec=VTC+vtec
VTC=Variable Timing Control
and i-vtec has VARIABLE TIMING CONTROL on ONLY the intake side.

so if your going to "correct" someone, first be correct, second have something to correct. and if you dont believe me believe honda:
