On top of that I don't understand retarded drivers that close a gap when splitting a lane, as if they get pissed that I get to the front of a stoplight. A stupid college kid driving his gf on PCH thought it was cute to move over in his jeep cherokee and shut me out. He thought wrong.
If people did that on my twisty road, I would just go out there with a broom first and sweep the corners clean.
Fvcking haters tho! I got a couple at work... wtf life is a hella lot easier when you are straight up with people.

Sadly I think this kind of thing is only going to increase. As motorcycling of all varieties increases in popularity, there will be more incidents of vendettas and sabotage against bikers on street and dirt. People especially hate the noise created by dirt bikes, so I doubt this will be the last of its kind.

You could also argue the flip side of the coin though.
As motorcycling becomes more popular, it may become more widely accepted.
Eh? Eh? Maybe not, but you could imagine.

Long run, I agree with you. In Europe, motorcyclists are treated like we treat the disabled. People see bikes coming and move over. The depth of courtesy is mind-boggling.
They've been around there for so long that people know to watch for them, and they actually respect them for only using just that little bit of fuel and road space as compared with a car.
As gas prices rise and congestion gets intolerable, I think we will see motorcycles start to become more accepted as ways to get around practically. Right now people think of them as toys ridden by suicidal iconoclasts, but I think that will change.

Do those white trash bastards live in a cartoon world or something? It's unbelievable that they could have THAT much disregard for someone else's life.

Although he's probably lucky to be alive, those are horrible injuries. I hope those 3 hilbillies are put away for a long while.

thats a really good point. i hope that is the case too. maybe a bigger demand for 250's in the US, that would be nice.

I dunno about the 250 thing. Maybe if a lot of people get into bikes just for the cost-saving reasons. But bikers, by and large, will always be people who are willing to court danger, and will always be looking for faster ways to do so.
I think getting a bike is a better way to reduce your fuel consumption and save $ overall than replacing your car with a more fuel-efficient one.
Hopefully city planners and lawmakers will start to realize this, and will make the roads a safer and friendlier place for bikes. As it is now, if I exploit the natural advantages of my bike (riding in small spaces, parking in small spaces) it invariably attracts the attention of either cops or people who hate me for not having to sit in traffic. That's not a way to encourage people to use less.

we got a road down in florida like that... its a great twistie, unfortunately it runs right down a road lined with houses. there is always sand on the corners, so often, that we can no longer use the road. they did put it only onhe visible curves,of the road, so that we can see it coming. i dont think they want to hurt us, because there are plenty of blind corners that they could sand down. but it is rather annoying.
