So I have an 89 si manual.

It has a SOHC VTEC D16Y8 1.6 2000 CIVIC EX MOTOR already dropped in it.
Everything else is ok, the body maybe 2 rust holes, interior is completely gutted.


BUT it has just about nothing else in it. No distributor, no radiator, the wires are mixed matched, spliced, and maybe unusuable.

I have a 89 DX auto.

It has the stock 1.5 DX Motor in it with the rest of the stock og parts.
The front grill and radiator support is pushed in
the bottom part of the body is pushed in too (not so much though).
The window is bashed in to the max.
The bumper itself is bent up along with the front bumper cover.
The back has no damage really but there is frame damage from a previous crash.

Yeah it could look normal with a little work, and I can get a winshield,front bumper + cover for free (so this guy i know says) and winshield installed either for free or $50. but i dont want to drive it knowing that its messed up like that. Also fixing up the frame would cost $900. Is it worth it? NO. So trying to fix this up is a waste of time unless i can get my hands on a DX shell.

I have a friend willing to gut out either or both cars cause he quit his job and has alot of time on his hands. But he doesnt know didly about wiring. This is where my mechanic friend comes into play, where he knows wiring. He will charge me, but not that much.

I dont want to fix up the DX body wise or swap anything into it engine or whatever wise and thats already decided.

So here the problem lies..

I want to make due with what I have with the Si..The d16y8 motor...the straight body. And take whatever interior/exterior parts I need from my dx to complete the si. Which wont be much cause my mechanic friend says that the distributor and etc from my dx arent interchangeable with the d16y8 motor. I need new wiring and whatever kind of parts thatll fit into the si with the d16y8 motor.

What Do I do..Where can I get the parts for cheap...What are the parts I need?

I dont know much when it comes to these kinds of things..thats why I always bring a friend when i go and buy parts or check out a car.
Im really short on funds too, and just started a construction job that requires me to work when they get hired for projects, Which is every week but I dont get to work everyday. But I also run videography/photography company that requires me to atleast look respectable cause im mostly filming models.

So....I need a ride to work, and I need a ride that is decent looking for my business.
anyone who can take some time to give advice would be mad appreciated.
