1st gen b16a smoking need help
I just recently swaped a b16 into my car its starting to smoke blue in high rpms and sometimes when im accelerating from a stop. My valves are ticking pretty loud too. I was told it could be my valve guides and seals also it could be my piston rings. Im wondering if there is any way to tell with out ripping the motor apart. I dont feel like pulling the motor if its just the valve guides. I have straight piping no cat just a test pipe and resonator if that will help narrow it down. Any help is greatly appreciated

Valve seals for sure but they should be fine for a good while, but i would advise getting a valve adjustment for sure. The JDM motors from what i heard is when they sit for a while after being pulled and then sit in a warehouse until being sold tend to dry up a little, as in when they sit the oil all goes back down into the oil pan and their is nothing on the head so the valve seals dry up or dry rot. Anyways when they are lubricated again by oil "whenever" they are runned again, they smoke a little, and mine did that when i got my motor but only in the upper RPMs when i got on it. You know for some reason it went away eventually, maybe cause it was not too bad of a case or because i used a thicker vicosity and NOT synthetic since it's thinner or more slicker i think, eh thats my 2 cents, eat it.
Do a LEAKAGE TEST. If you have a leakage tester then do it so you can see what percent of air is leaking and from where its leaking. If you dont have access to one, go to a shop and ask them. I dont think it should be more than 30 bucks.
