yes, ive searched didnt find much that helps. the speedo was jumpin and then stoped working, eg. eveyrthing else works fine, just the speedo doens't. connection on at the plugs seems fine. is it the speedo cable? thanks.

You don't have a speedo cable. Welcome to 1992. I would trace the VSS wiring and look for an open in the wires.

 

Had the same problem. Either there is moistur on the VSS where it doesn't work right or you need to replace the VSS. They are different for autos and mannys.

 

my friend's speed sensor was acting up, and he took it all apart and hosed it with carb cleaner. turns out that it was just gunked up and the gear wasn't turning.

 

could be your wire too, mine's corroded to total crap and i need a new one (which is coming in the mail )
