Default Found the culprit!

This would explain alot of things! I guess it is 10 years old.

The good news is that it wasn't nearly as much of a son-of-a-bitch as I thought it would be to replace. The only really difficult thing was getting the 19mm bolts to break loose on the brace. PB blaster + pushing the breaker bar will the foot gets the job done.

The bottom line for people searching for info in the future- you don't need to remove the intake manifold.

That will always be good news

Did you go with replacement mount or insert?

Just a stock mount. I did the two front ones before doing this one, hoping it would save me the work of the this (the rear) one.

The engine was jerking really bad with throttle/clutch modulation.

That would've been a perfect time to put in some inserts....that wouldn't help your jerkiness/vibrations though.

Yeah I'm not interested in reducing wheel hop on the launch. I don't think ES'es are legal in DS auto-x anyhow.

Glad to hear you found and corrected the culprit. Now that I have 97 #347 back, I will be ripping the motor back out for some upgrades and new motor mounts are on the agenda.

Did you experience any steering wheel vibration at highway cruising speeds or at anytime while pressing on the gas more than 1/4 of the way down? If im going on the highway between about 70 and 90 I get a slight steering wheel vibration that isn't bad but annoying. Its weird cause if Im going much faster than that (which I rarely do) it seems to go away. It also happens while getting on the gas a little bit. I have tried everything to fix it and nothing has worked. This might be my answer. I know my mounts have well over 100,000 miles on them. Anyway, glad you found your answer.
