Default 2nd gear grinds but other gear is fine

im putting syncromesh. how many qts i need for crx si?

how do i drain tranny fluid in crx? and how do i fill? where is it located in tranny drain bolt?

the drain bolt on the tranny is a square 3/8 bolt at the bottom of the tranny. u stick the end of your ratchet in there.

the fill bolt is the 17mm nut just up from the fill plug..

i find it easier to fill through the reverse gear sensor plug or the big *** bolt on the top of the tranny..

good luck. i will tell you the 17mm bolt will be tight as expletive, i hope u got a decent wrench cause u will have to lay under the car and kick the wrench to bust the bolt loose.

i think its 1-1/2 bottles of the syncromesh. i did that several months ago. it helped a lot but it still does it every now and then. i think the shifter bushing needs to be replaced. 18 year old rubber has to be worn out by now.

Best advice overall, get new shifter bushings, and some syncromesh. The both of those together should cut down on tranny wear for a while at least, and shifting should be noticable better until you trash it and do a swap.
