Default 2001 itr vs crx with b16??????

my freind is setting me up for this race with this kids crx as far as i know he has done a b16 swap with cam upgrades intake and ehaust and maybe cam gears . everybody tells me the car is running high to mid 14's ihave never gone to the track yet so i can only guess how fast i could be running. the mods i have are an AEM cold air intake, AEM power pulleys, comptech 4-2-1 stepped header, Tanabe racing Medallion exhaust, Apexi Vtec-Afc, APC 9.3 spark plug wires, and a DC short throw shifter. do you think i have a chance to win were racing for $200 is it worth it or should i just save the doe for another race

I think you should save your money and go to an actual dragstrip if you plan on racing someone.

And to answer your post, if his car is running high to mid 14s, I don't know what you're worried about. The R is capable of running a 14.5 in stock form with a decent driver. If all those mods you've listed have helped you out at all, you could still win even if you don't know how to drive.

I ran a CRX HF with a JDM B16 swap with intake/headers/exhaust. The CRX also had a stripped interior. He just had seats and his dash. My R is bone stock, we both had a friend in the car and I had some BALD *** potenzas...I got him by half a hood length...

some kid at my school dropped a b16a1 in his crx and he beat a prelude by 1 car, the kid in lude can't drive worth a ****. But i want to run him and hopefully make his ego go down a little, but then again street racing is dumb and he's the one going home in the peice of **** crx and im leaving in the R.......i dunno

Save your cash. I wouldn't bet a penny on either car.

Spend it towards something worthwhile - legal dragging (if that's your bag), some autocrosses or an HPDS.

You will take him...the only advantage he will have is off the line...as long as you hook you will smoke him in 2nd and 3rd.

His car is lighter so he might have an edge through first...other than that as long as you nail your launch...I"m up the bet to 300$

I've raced about 6 CRX with B16 swaps, with the same mods. Never lost one, I've only got a AEM, and DC Sport header, trust me...you shouldn't have a problem!!!

It will come down to who's a better driver....and make sure he doesn't spray you, check for a bottle before you go.

CRX will roll the ITR hard in a straight line.

And if the CRX has some decent suspension mods, it'll roll in the turns too.

I have a couple friends with CRX's with JDM B16's... They're quick, but not fast. Best time they've been able to muster, at the track, is a 14.7, decent driver. Good driver, maybe 14.5... That's GUTTED, on streets. The ITR will win, unless you stall off the line...

CRX ownz you! J/K mine would though. I have seen R's with basic mods get low into the 14's. The typical crx with b16 and bolt ons will run mid 14's. Assuming you are a good driver you should get him. But if you want to race me for 200 I am game.

If the CRX driver is remotely decent it will roll Rs. Been there done there in a I/E (stock JDM b16 header) CRX with tons of **** in it (edit: by tons of **** in it I mean interior, seats, fast food bags, 2 liter coke bottles (empty) etc.) vs a ITR with i. The CRX with nothing else done runs 14.1s/14.2s with the owner and I drive it faster than the owner does, probably high high high 13s or 14.0x. Beat the ITR many many times with various drivers (friends ITR).

Maybe his CRX has a motor is poor condition, but if not, than he can't drive if he's running those times with cams.. assuming it's tuned.

Itr206, I don't have any against R owners/drivers, just ask Sqt. But sure I will run you at the track. My crx isn't registered or insured.

thats funny . our crx with a b16 with i/e went 15.2 on street tires.
then with the same exact mods just with the b18 went 14.6
it was only raced once with each motor. but i guess we got shitty motors.
cuz i sure as **** know how to drive.
i guess thats another case of the super motor. . . just like the r with an i/h ran 13.8 at 102?

LOL we were running 15.3s with the stock Si motor (edit: by stock I just mean a CRX Si motor, motor also had intake, header (dc) exhaust (greddy) and a AEM cam gear, in addition to the shaved head mentioned next) and a severly milled head (TOOOOO milled). What kind of power did that motor dyno at? Sorry but a CRX with nothing in it weighs in the very low 2000s and with 140ish (this motor put down 153 at John's shop with a USDM CRX Si GReddy exahsut, was before the thermal was installed, gutted cat and PVC CAI, 111ft-lbs at the wheels). Maybe we did get a strong motor, but then VaporTrails CRX with not much more than that mod-wise (IIRC) was running 13s as well.

I never said you couldn't drive either itr206, even if I do get on you about your red bulbs and single wiper conversion But I must say 15.2 is a seriously SLOW *** time for a b16a propeled CRX...

hahahah, i didnt like the b16 as much as the b18. the torque from the b18 pulled that thing tlike a bat out of hell though.
actually i wasnt the one that raced it , my car club pres raced it , i dorve it with all the diff motors in it and was most impressed with the 18. we got 2 more 2 days ago . one for the crx again , and i think the other were gonnatry to put in the 1999 dx.
