Need spec for grinding flywheel
My car is a 1984 Accord, Standard, 1829cc engine code ES2.
I have been working for several months on rebuilding the entire engine. While I still have it stripped apart I would like to re-grind the flywheel. The way it looks now, it has a step in it where the outer 2or so inches seem to be a few thousandths higher than the center portion. I wasn't able to locate a spec in my manual on what that difference should be when I re-grind it. (e.g. outer ring is .040 taller).
I just figured I'd post it here any see if anyone happened to know what this spec was and/or where I could find it.
Thanks.

Davelux,
When you take the FW into the machine shop they will touch on the (virgin) surfaces (where the disk has never touched and obtain the difference between the two step. When they machine the the FW they simply maintain the original distance between the two steps.
Don't worry about it unless you had slippage problems with a new clutch or release problems (can't get it into or out of gear).
Hope this helps...

Thats cool. Thanks to both of you. I will actually be doing the grinding myself at the machine shop, but didn't want to screw it up. I'll check the runout and then take it from there. Thanks again.
