Burning out Headlight bulbs!!

Default Burning out Headlight bulbs!!

Im having problems blowing out my low-beams on my EG6..Ive went trough several bulbs. I recently had a KDG 12k HID kit and it even blew the right side headlight bulb.... Any one have any ideas?..wiring,relays, or fuses?..

Are you touching the bulbs with your bare hands as you put them in.. this creates a hot spot and ruins them

yea be careful the oil from your fingers damages halogen bulbs - use latex gloves if you need to

do you have projector headlights? if you do, anything higher than a standard rating will cause blown bulbs. the projector gets too hot and the bulbs overheat. if you are touching the glass portion of the bulb or capsule, then you are creating a hot spot like ^Jae said and that is destroying the bulb. only handle the bulb from the area that does not enter the headlight. if your HID capsule is blown, look at the center, if it is black, you may either have had a defective bulb or you turn them on and off quickly and frequently (highbeam flashing). if you have a cracked or externally damaged capsule, that is usually shipping related or handling related. if there is a normal colored capsule but it doesn't work, more than likely a defect. make sure that your HID system is getting battery voltage at the input.

i have been taking exrta caution when i change my bulbs by wearing gloves, even with those on i still dont touch the bulb...but like i said its only burning out my low beams only??
