Gold color on new oem calipers?
ok so im gonna be replacing my front rotors and pads this sunday, i did the rears last sunday and the calipers were painted black like 2 years ago and there showing there age
and i was just looking around at some pics an saw some pics of a itr with either painted or new calipers, and they looked really nice, so i got to thinking since im doing the rotors, why not make the calipers look nice since im keeping the car now
so heres the question, has anybody found a rattle can with a gold color thats as close to the oem gold as possible, call me a ricer, but some of you know the feeling of somthing either being or looking new, and it feels good
thanks to anybody who helps out

I don't know of any cadmium plating in a can. Just get a set of rebuilt calipers from Honda, they re-plate them, and they look brand new.
im not looking for any kind of crazy plating, just a gold spray paint thats close to the oem gold color
how much are these oem rebuild calipers?

Does the cadmium plating just flake away & wear off over time? Or are they susceptible to brake cleaner or acid found in some wheel cleaners?
Mine still look fine so I'm curious what does them in, as far as the plating is concerned.

The plating doesn't flake, it's more like an anodized finish. In time it will just kind of wear off - road salt from a Wisconsin winter will get rid of it fast, ask me how I know.
Check your local parts store for spray paints that match the oem caliper color. I found one that held up just fine and looks like new oem calipers but a little more gold.
My rebuilt acura ones didn't come with the gold color. They're still nice though since they're spotless. I almost don't wanna install them

Did you get them through a dealership or a parts store such as Autozone? All the ones I've seen from the dealership have been re-plated.

I just went to the garage to look again. They are indeed gold
for some reason I thought they weren't cause it was dark.

I'd keep the brake cleaner away from the spoon clappers. If you ever catch a glimpse of mine you'll know why. I spray them with everything and they def dont look so good.
