turbo setup on 01 v6 accord
does anyone have pics or links to a site that might help me build a turbo setup, or if anyone has heard of a person building a turbo system for new v6 accords
thanks
thanks
well hks was to come out with one but the problems were that the transmission couldnt handle the power,...if you had the space and loot, i dont see why a tt setup would not work...or bettter yet just get a centrifugal supercharger......
Comptechs supercharger kit is awaiting CARB numbers to make the system exempt from emission laws. It should be out in a month or 2 and is supposed to raise wheel hp by 60-70hp
yeah...but if you are going custom anyways you might as well just go with a twin turbo anyways...that's hella power coming from that v6...i've never heard of this kind of thing done so maybe you could be the first!
the turbos would have to be small as hell. Have you ever looked under the engine bay of a 6th gen V6. Unless you put a huge turbo where the passenger seat is there really isnt room for it in the car

Space is still an issue tho. It could be done but superchargers seem to be much easier on the tranny than the turbo did. Comptech has put over 10K miles on the accord with the supercharger on it and besides a tranny cooler (hayden #403) and redline ATF the tranny is totally stock.
They have been working on getting The exemption numbers for about 2 months now. It should be done shortly. Check the forums on http://www.comptechusa.com
I don't necessarily think twins are a waste, if you upgrade the twins on a supra that thing will put down more power than any single turbo i know of. Have you guys seen http://www.waslerrz.com/pics.html ???
tell me those twins are a waste

twins would work just dandy if you could fit them somewhere under the hood...i'd imagine you could probably get one big blower where the battery is and put it in the back but i dunno where you'd be able to put the other one...if you put them both where the battery is then they'd be so small that the tt setup wouldn't even be worth it...hmmmm...how much power do you think this car would throw down if you had twin turbos on it...350?
the real problem for the V6 is not space or the turbo/supercharger system- the real bottleneck/problem is the tranny. The auto tranny in the V6 is known to have issues when subjected to abnormal driving (neutral drops, hard revs, etc...) You can try to put as much power as you can via turbos/superchargers but you won't have a very stable daily driver until you upgrade it with a level 10...i know of 1 sucessful turbo v6- in long island...but it was a LOT of $$ to get it right.
the supercharger ain't cheap either from comptech but it seems to be quite stable- they claim only changing to Redline ATF is sufficient to use the charger. However, it seems like it will never be released as Comptech is continuously pushing back the date of release...

Only reason it hasnt been released is because the tree huggers are taking forever giving it its Emission Exemption Numbers. They have been in that stage for over 2 months now
