I Have an 86 accord DX with manual windows. There are 2 plastic clips that attach the window glass to the lift mechanism. These clips are pressure fitted/glued to the glass and have a bolt loop that attaches them to the lift rail. These loops have become brittle and broke off. What is the actual name of these parts and where can I buy new ones? Also, what kind of glue is recommended when attaching them?

 

go to a junk yard and get the parts...as for what they are called I dont know...but youd have the best luck at going to a junkyard full of hondas

I was able to make it out to a Honda/Acura Specialty shop today. They informed me that Honda no longer makes the part, and no aftermarket companies that he knows of makes them either. Supposedly they are not supposed to ever separate from the window glass. So it looks like I'll be making the hour-long trip to the closest import salvage yard. At least it will give me an excuse to get a new fender and some odds and ends while I'm there, assuming that I can find a decent donor car.

 

you need to get the complete glass, those clips are glued to the glass, they do not sell them separately

 

I went and picked one up at the salvage yard. It's a shame to pay $40 for window glass when I only need the clips, But then again I do trust factory glue jobs more than most epoxies for gluing things to glass.
