DC Sport JDM PRELUDE SHORT SHIFTER KIT
is this thing worth getting? I've heard from some ppl who have them that shifting is much easier and faster with it. What do you guys think? What does it actually do to the original shifter? how does it work? Can it cause any damage to the tranny or any other parts?

first off, the dc sport short shifter kit isnt really considered (in my opinion) JDM. Just wanted to get that out of the way, i hate seeing things on ebay and other places called JDM just so they can be sold. Anyways, the short shifter kit is just an adapter, i have it on my prelude. It takes all but 5 to 15 minutes to install one, depending on if you know what you are doing. It makes the throws between shifts alot shorter (30-35%), resulting in a shorter shift. i have the b&m short shifter on my 94 si and i am quite pleased with it. I believe B&M ($45) is about half the cost of the DC sports one ($80+). They both serve the same purpose. here is a link to what the actual piece looks like

The kit should have an installation manual in it, and it will in no way effect or damage your transmission or any other parts. You do have to notch out a piece of plastic on the center consold so the link wont rub and go into the gears smoothly. Good luck!

so which parts are JDM? how do i know if a part is JDM? Does it mean that the part is made in Japan or is there more meaning to it?
JDM is usually used to describe parts made by Honda for the Japanese versions of the cars, such as the one piece headlights for 92-96 Preludes or the H22A (the Japanese version of the H22A1 or h22A4 engines, both of which are US versions, or USDM) It is often also used for Japanese tuning companies, like Mugen or Spoon. I was under the impression that DC Sports was a US company. My guess is that you got that from some ad on Ebay where someone is using JDM to get hits from people searching for it.
