Electical Gurus Look Here
I was driving down the street today and i hit two huge potholes one after the other i had zero time to slow down, when i hit them i felt the shifter mover severelythan other times. Now here is my problem, as soon as i hit them my cluster lights stopped working, the blinkers and seatbelt, ebrake lil lights still work on the cluster but the damn thing doesnt light up, my foglights also went out! its too dark outside to take a closer look but fortunately tomorrow i have the day off, everything else seems to be working fine. If someone can point me in the right direction i will appreciate it! thnx in advance

number 1: start simple = check fuses. number 2: remove gauge cluster and check for loose/disconnected ground. My money would be on that. The only other places are the dimmer switch and the parking light/head light switch, but those seem less likely. It is also possible that you could have busted the bulbs, but I somehow doubt you broke all 5 simultaneously =P Are they OEM gauge lights or ElGlow?
Oh and if I hit bumps like that I would be worried about hurting my rims = ouch.
If you have more ?'s lemme know.

the thing is that the street was beign worked on and there were like , not pot holes but those round sewege cover things, and they where carved around so that they where stiking up like mountains! my rims didnt hit at all, there are no leaks, but the middle of my car hit realllly bad! it bent one of the brakets that holds the bpipe completly flat! i cheked and there where 3 popped fuses and i reaplaced them and nothing, sam ****! come one please help!
so i need to replace the bulbs inte cluster? why, the blinkers work, and i also need to replace the bulbs in the climatecontol, hmm i think it might be something else!

THE solution....
go outside, turn your lights on....
give your dimmer switch a few "love taps" (aka hit it a few times, where its mounted) and VOILA!! light!!
happens to me ALL the time

The ciruit that fuse is protecting is bad you have a short to ground somewhere in that ciruit check aftermarket addons that have to do with electrical componets like your fog lights. Do you have the fog lights hooked up to your headlamp switch? You should find out what that fuse is for and find a bad wire or something has gotting through the protective part of the wiring and is touching the body or frame. If it keeps popping fuses you have a diffenent short to ground!!!! There is a trick to finding the short with a compass but I dont feel like writing an essay maybe someone else can help you with that.
all outside lights work fine! so i should check all conections for my foglights!? ok will do first thing tomorrow!
i sitll need to know what that fuse is for! anyone with a 97 civic in here that could get me pic of the fuse box ATLAs(map)???

If a fuse is blowing, then there is a problem someplace on that circuit. That wire is touching metal or getting grounded out somewhere along the lines. Now all you have to do is find it.
