help! when i give full throttle the tach needle jumps around like there is no tomorrow, all over the place. i have checked all wires from distributor and such because i just replaced that on tuesday.i think that may have something to do with it, because the first time since then i really got on it was this morning. everything else seems normal to me, i dont know what it could be... any suggestions?

oh ya, and my car is a 96 ex 5spd. if that matters.....

 

hrrrmmm, you might have wired something inccorectly or it could be an exposed wire????

 

i will be digging more into it tomorrow, in the light of day... i shall let you know the results.

 

But at partial throttle the tach behaves normally?

 

ya, it did... but i got it fixed.

one of the wires leading to the sensor was exposed, just like sohcarchangel suggested. now every thing is fine.

 

yeah i had the same prob, my buddy just redid the wire.. the tach is more solid now ..i was going nuts too ..though it was something else.. wheww!
