power window question?
I have a '90 Accord with power windows. The drivers window does nothing, and is stuck 1/3 of the way open. Any suggetions on telling wether it's the switch or the motor? I'm assuming since it has auto down, 2 circiuts, that it's the motor, but I could be way off on that... Before I go buying parts, I'd like to be sure. Thanx!
HEY I HAVE A 96 ACCORD I REPLACED THE MOTOR NOTHING THEN THOUGHT THE SWITCH YES IT WAS THE SWITCH ONE WAY TO TELL IS IF IT WENT UP AND DOWN BEFORE AND SEAMED LIKE IT WOULD STOP THEN ADVENTUALLY JUST STOPPED PUSHED IT AGAIN HARD DOWN AND UP SEVERAL TIMES TO GET IT TO MOVE BEFORE IT STOPPED ALL TOGETHER. IT ALSO SMOKED SOMETIMES. IF YOUR UNSURE WHAT I DID WAS TAKE THE SWITCH APART I NOTICED THE CONNECTS WERE BADLY CORRODED AND THEN SAND THE LITTLE METAL STRIPS DOWN AND PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND IT WORKED FOR A LITTLE BUT IT PROVED THE PROBLEM AND NOW I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW ONE FROM HONDA AND IT WORK PERFECT. SINCE A JUNKYARD SWITCH MIGHT DO THE SAME. ID SAY ITS WORTH A TRY AND MIGHT SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS REPLY TO ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
Holy crap man please turn the caps lock off!
When you press the switch can you hear he motor trying to do anything? Be sure the window is not out of track.
If you can't hear the motor doing anything when you hit the switch it may be the switch, if you can hear it you may have a regulator or window track problem. Just let us know what it is.
