Default B20B w/ 8.8:1CR Gas mileage and other quetions

I am thinking about getting an EF Hatch that has a blown b-series swap in it. It has a b18a swap in there right now. What I want to do is pull the long block and throw in a b20b from Password in there (only $550) using the LS tranny, ECU, Intake Manifold, Header, Clutch, Harness ect.

-What I was wondering, what gas mileage are you guys in EF's getting with these?

-How quick are these (Currently I have an EG with a GSR swap)

-For the swap, does the b20b have the newer style flywheel bolt pattern or will I be able to use the LS?

the performance stock vs stock is hardly any better than a b18a.

but when you put a vtec head on it and some more compression, the displacement difference is very noticeable.

not going to do a CR-Vtec. I am looking to keep this a cheap daily driver. I am in college so I am not looking anything for stellar performance. Plus I have a GSR EG that is road course ready, so I don't need alot of power out of this.

You guys are kinda missing my points. I know that my GSR hatch will be faster, but my major question is about the econmy and tech of this swap.

You're looking for economy and reliability...yeah?

Look for a B20z, not the B20b and keep it 99% stock. The Z is rated at 146hp vs the B at 126hp.

And that 146hp is w/the stock configuration...By using the LS intake manifold, it been said it makes another 5-8hp over the restrictive stock im. So 150ish hp and more torque than any of the other B-series...makes a great daily driver.

I have a B18b with high compression pistons in my CRX. I can regularly get 38-40 mpg and a personal best of 46mpg. Mostly dependant on driving style.

Hmm, I will have to email password. On their site they rate they have the specs as 146hp and 8.8:1. I know that the JDM b20b came in 8.8:1 for pre 98 and 98+ had 9.6:1. Maybe they are the second gen b20b and the HP rating is right and not the CR.

That's the big difference between the B20 b and z...compression ratio.
The Z was 9.6 and 146hp. But it was usdm...who knows what the equivalent jdm motor was stamped as.
If you're going to stay mostly stock, you'll really want that additional 20 hp.
