Default Solid shift linkage problem *pics**

Can someone tell me the problem, how do I secure it so it doesnt move around and I can actually put my car into gear ? ? Because the oval/circle piece isnt attached to the car fully, and when I shift it move it and my shifter hits the center console, or the shifter goes on an angle, etc.

Sorry for crappy pics.

Bummmpppp, I just found out that these welds are broken, I bought hasport linkage from a shop and it was shitty after 4 mos of driving, so they replaced it 3 weeks ago, and now its broken again, is there a logo or anything that I can look for and make sure it is hasport, b/c I see nothing. And would welding it solve my problem ? ?

You can't solidly mount the shifter to the body! It has to float.

The reason is that it's attached to the transmission, which moves around a certain amount. If you solidly attached it, you would be trying to restrain the transmission from moving. Not good!!

What sounds like your problem is the rubber bushing at the transmission! Try replacing it with one of the urethane ones (energy suspension kit for an LS)
