clutch removal....what else is needed?
Other than the clutch kit....what else is needed to put a stock clutch on my 97 civic cx 1.6 nonvtec.....oils, grease, etc.? (Exclude tools)
Torque wrench, jackstands and basic hand tools. The hardest part is lining the damn tranny back up when putting everything back together. Not a tough job at all though.
a friend or a engine hoist to put the tranny back in. that is the hardest part.
i just installed my clutch, i did it on my own, took me about 4 hours with the help of an engine hoist. hardest part, putting tranny back in. i messed up by using impact to shoot in the pressure plate bolts. you should use a torque wrench. i was too lazy to redo it so i just left it like that. you need to get some grease and grease the shift folk *****(2), and the input shaft of the tranny. i changed my clutch without having to change my tranny fluid. only a few drops fell out and it was fine. make sure you break it in properly after though. good luck.
