is my pacesetter header a piece of poop?
i have a pacesetter header on a stock z6 with msd wires k&m filter and short p.o.s intake. is this header better than stock because the butt dyno cant tell. i think it sounds like crap and am considering putting my stock header back on . also is there a proven inexpensive header i could find online? i know a header wont make much a diffrence that i can feel. soon i plan on upgrading cam and cam gear with a baby tune and i dont want the header holding me back from any gains to be had big or small.
pretty much ya......
i was reading one of my books a while back, were they take diff parts and compare the diff between them, on a dyno..the pacesetter heads came up and they had to take it to a shop with a gasket to grind out some of the header... it didnt fit and they said it is wasted money for buying it...
forgot the name of the book and im not at my house so i cant give u the name.... but if u buy a performence part at like a g.i. joes or something( i used to work there and they sold it) it isent really good.... u pay for what u get..

my friend put an ebay no name header on his sedan about 6 months ago and it made a very noticeable difference. No way to tell what kind of gains it made but we could definatly tell it had more power then before.
if u read dyno pages in any magazine where they jus swap out the headers you'll see that you'll lose like around 2-5 hp & torque below 3000rpms but gain about 4-6 after that curve. this was a dc 4-2-1 headers by the way on i believe a 240sx
