Starter Solenoid
Where is the starter solenoid located on this car? Anyone got a picture of it and know where it's located? How hard is it to change? The car is a 96 Accord EX with the 2.2L VTEC as I'm sure you guys know.
Contrary to your 1970 Mustang All Honda's (that I know of) starter solenoids are on the starter. And it's best advised to replace the whole unit mainly because it's easier. I'm not even sure if you can buy the solenoid seperate.
Yeah I went to get a starter solenoid and was told I had to replace the whole starter. Well where the heck is that on this car. I hate this ******* POS. I have never in my life seen a car thats so hard to locate the starter. Right under the dist. there seems to be something that looks like it may be the starter but again at the same time doesn't really look like it. I can't find anything else that even looks close though.
I also have oil on the underside of the engine of my car. Some on the drain pain like coming from the drain plug which is new with a new washer so I don't really get that but the rest all over the bottom of the transmission. I think it's coming from one of the axle boots which both axles were replaced about a year ago. The other side doesn't appear to be leaking but appears to have the boot dry rotting. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be worth it to try to sell if after I get it running again.
Ok I'm done with my rant for now. Any idea where the starter is on here?

if you open your eyes you could see the starter . like you siad it is below the distr, below the lower rad hose, on the tranny, follow the pos battery cable and see where it end up,, that's the starter ..

How would a starter from Fishers or Napa compare to OEM? The shop I work at is doing it and the owner said he thought OEM was a waste of money to go with one from Fishers or Napa and that he'd never seen a problem with one of them.
