Removing radio from 1.6 EL

I have a '99 acura 1.6 EL (canada). Can I safely remove the radio and change it or is the security system connected to the radio?

Go ahead and change it but you are going to need a code.

I have the code for the radio, that's not the problem. I just want to make sure it will not affect the security system of the car.
