ok i've had my car for a few months and once and awhile the tach needle will start juming around with hesitation. it never does it below 3k rpm's and it dosn't do it all the time a week ago the coil went so i put on my msd sci ignition with blaster ss coil and it fixed the coil part but i still have the jumping tach and hesitation and its driving me crazy. i'm not getting any codes it's a 93 ex d16z6 motor

 

An erratic tach needle could be a bad ignitor. Otherwise, MSD ignitions are not that reliable... so keep that in mind.

It's just that I know of at least five cars now that had issues that were all cleared up by ditching the MSD and putting the stock distributor back in. The stock system is good up to 500 hp.

Two weeks ago, my bf was at one garage where one of their customers wanted to put in an MSD system into his car. The mechanic didn't want to because he hates them also. So... then the kid paid him to install it for looks with the wires tucked underneath it for some auto show. lol

Anyway, just something to keep in mind down the road.
