Default Wich one of these i should buy

Here in Puerto Rico prices are bit higher than in the US so i was wondering wich S2k i should buy they are both 2000 s2k

First 00 S2k he is asking for 18k or best offer but the car got 71k miles

formula red color

Second 00 S2k he is asking for 19k and the car got 51k miles and comes with axis 18 rims and the original set

Black S2k

*gotta love the avatar*

Personally i would go for the lower mileage of the two....

But, just because it has lower mileage, it does not mean that it is in better condition.....

So, i would say take a very close look at both, make sure they have had their TSB's taken care of, and before you buy either one, take it to a certicied mechanic and have it gone over w/ a fine tooth comb....

Good Luck

i think now its just a choice of color. mileage really isnt an issue with me. I trust the S all the way. It also depends on the person selling it. If they are both taken car of then go for your prefered color. Or if you dont care about the color then go for lesser miles.

Those prices seem high, I have an 00 and wouldn't expect to get that much for my car. I think you should be able to find one with around that mileage for about 16k. Or if you could spend 19k i would try and find a 02.

known problems are 2nd gear grind, try and test drive the cars while the motor is still cold to find this problem. Since its a 00, you will probably hear noise from 3-4k rpms decelerating it is just clutch buzz(not anything to really worry about, a newer year preasure plate would fix it). Listen to the rear for a "clicking" sound, lots of early year s2000's had this problem and usually you only need to retorque the axle nut. It could lead to a worn wheel bearing/hub. Also, the dif on the s2000 has been conisdered a weak spot to some, so listen for odd noises coming from it.

Also you are getting the plastic rear window, soft tops aren't exactly cheap to replace. So unless you are getting a hardtop soon, make sure you can see out of it.

I'm sure i missed some things, but i hope this helps. Good luck with your search.

i know prices seem high but here in Puerto Rico those are actually the cheapest price for an 00 S2000 i could fin ive seen normally the 00 and 01 go for 20 to 23k. In the US cars are way cheaper than Puerto Rico because here we add some stuffs called arbitrios( i dont know the word in english lol) and taxes thats why a new car in the US cost u 20k but here in PR the price go up like 5-6k

Thanks for the help

I think he's not in the "mainland" so the price may varies as he told us so in the first post.

pretty much all the ap1 have that clutch buzz when you let go the gas, it's harmless btw.

top catcher rattle( i have a 25cents fix for this, im/pm)

tear top, busted rear plastic

faded red tail light

bent shift fork

stalling on reverse(another easy fix)

rear axle nut(need to be torqued to 220 ft lb)

paper core speaker(also you have no clock for 00)

leaky top gasket

wear spot on the leather seat

auto down window switch(easy fix)
