Default What do Type R rods look like compared to GSR rods?

Sorry I screwed up on the title-it should read:

<U>"What do Type R rods look like compared to GSR Rods"</U>

I'm about to buy a set of Type R rods from someone.

Can some of you guys fill me in on what the visual differences are from a Type R rod vs. a GSR rod? (if someone has pics that'll be even better!)

Don't know if it's true, but do the Type R rods have an "R" stamped on the rods?

Are the Type R rods beefier than the GSR rods? out of curiousity, do the Type R rods weigh more?

thanks for the help

They are supposed to be slightly lighter and stronger. The caps have the same casting on the (p72) but you will see a "R" cast into the rod. It will be raised not stamped.

They take 9mm bolts just like gsr rods.

I know of a couple guys taking itr rods to 9300. (past that the domes of the pistons were kissing the spark plugs and the motor would die, custom wiseco pistons)

Bolts/studs are specified by thread diameter not hex head size.
