sorry to burst your bubble, but there is no way in hell you are going to get a good system consisting of 2 twelves for 250 bones. you may be able to find one used but I'm very skeptical about buying used electronic equipment.

why do you insist on having 2 12's anyways? especially since you're on a an increadibly tight budget

wrong!!!! there is way u can buy a system but it would have to go with yur budget. for ex for 100 bucks u can buy new 2 kicker comps,2 ma audio, or 2 audiobahns. U can even buy a good used set of woofers just check around on egay. An amp that i saw was a ma audio 800watts for 90+shipping brand new or u can bid on a name brand amp like fosqate, phoenix gold, crossfire, etc. Now a box u can make it if you are good with tools if not go to a local car audio shop and buy there for 40-50 bucks.

woofers $100+amp $100+amp +box$50=250!

i said good system. audiobahn is a brand name and it does suck. for 2 subs you will need a decently powerful amp, those are not cheap. 300 watt rms monoblocks are 150 bones. so unless you want a checker auto parts sound system then i suggest you buy one twelve, build a box and get a good amp to match the sub. i did that and spent 300 because my sub wasn't on sale and i used more expensive materials for the box.

First off, the Turantula is GHEY...very GHEY...the memphis mojo SMOKES its *** with about 100 less amps. Your 160.0 watt audiobomb isn't impressive either. I talked to an audiobahn rep and his biggest his was "but its chrome plater" and a memphis rep happened to walk by and mention "you can chrome plate a turd, but its still a turd". for SPL I would probably go with a USAmps VLX-400 at 1/8 ohm (burps only) and about 8 batcaps. SQ it would be a rough race among A/D/S, McIntosh, and Butler tubes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First off,you dont know **** or you would have reallized the Tarantula is a class A not a Class D,of course the MOJO will use less current, but he Tarantula will sound better. And the Tarantula was out before Memphis even thought of a 2000 wrms amp.

Also the Audiobahn 2200HC will put out a lot of power, but not what its rated at,it would need more than one 4 guage wire to do that. And of course another rep is going to trash talk Audiobahn, its their job.

And why would you pay tat much for a McIntosh amp or a Butler when you could get the same quality from a cheaper amp, like say a Soundstream or Audio Art or Linear Power or better yet Lanzar OptiDrives?

If youre just going to talk trash, then you dont really need to be here,he simply asked what amps you would pick, not which amp is GHEY,not which amp is the most efficient, and certainly not what does a Memphis rep think of Audiobahn.

just check local classified ads and watch ebay, it doesnt matter what brand you buy, all bass sounds the same. i've owned over 30 different subs and over 25 amps, get what you like, dont worry about whats cool to own.

when it's set up right you definately can tell the difference. if you just want bass and don't give a rats ***** how it sounds then do what this guy says: <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by mhart &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">just check local classified ads and watch ebay, it doesnt matter what brand you buy, all bass sounds the same. i've owned over 30 different subs and over 25 amps, get what you like, dont worry about whats cool to own.</TD></TR></TABLE>

i agree with you kinda, you can tell the difference between bass, but it usually has to do with the person who built and installed it, you need the right box and the power to move the sub, also with only $250 to spend he's not going for a sq world championship. i have seen very expensive subs and amps sound like crap, and i've also seen cheap stuff sounds great. I myself am more of a highend stereo guy, but when i started 10 years ago i'd take whatever i could afford and made it work.

I have an MTX Thunder TA5302 amp for sale... 300 RMS bridged. Its only been used for 2months... Had it in my last car. Decent amp. If you're interested send me an email and maybe we could work something out.

Flolikewater@yahoo.com

Oh and its a link in my sig to it... almost forgot.

with a tight budget i would try to find a friend selling his system or something along those lines. audio bahn anything is junk imo but of course if its cheap whatever works. true that brand doesnt always mean it will be good or bad, but im old enough to stop testing Thump speakers/amps to see which one will sound decent to save afew bucks.

no i meant sq. i mean for 250 you cant afford high end sq stuff, but you can get a nice little system to bump. i was in the spl world, i did db drag, i was top 20 in 2000 in my class. i had 2 15" kove armaggedon u's and 4 us amps 2000x's in a ford ranger. i was doing over 160db, ive also designed systems for 4 of my friends and all of them hit over 150db. i'm saying this so you know i do have some credit behind what i say. as for the original post i'd buy some partical board(cheaper then mdf) build a ported box, find a used amp that does about 500 watts and get a nice single 12" and have fun.
